Fashion
With fast-fashion taking over the industry, it might feel hard to shop sustainably. Investing in high quality environmentally-friendly clothing is a must. Thrifting is also a good way to sustainably shop.
Food
Going vegan or vegetarian is not the only way to eat sustainably. There are many small changes we can make in our diets to reduce our environmental impact. Eating less meat, choosing seafood sustainably, reducing food waste, supporting local farms, and eating seasonally are all impactful steps we can take. The important thing is to be mindful of what we eat and make choices that align with our values around sustainability. We don’t have to completely eliminate animal products to make a positive difference through our food choices. There are other ways to eat protein, such as peanuts, chia seeds and quinoa just to name a few.
Beauty Products
I’ve been trying to be more eco-conscious with my beauty routine lately, and it’s really not as hard as I thought it would be. There are so many great natural, organic, and sustainably-made products out there now. Keep an eye out for brands that use organic products and sustainable packaging. Start small by switching out just a couple of your daily products, like your cleanser and moisturizer. Once you get used to it, you’ll be surprised at how easy it is to make more sustainable choices with your makeup and skincare. And we’ll be helping the planet a little bit too!
